    About In 1982, the City Council of Fort Worth approved a revised Citywide Citizen Participation Plan which delineated the mechanisms and procedures for the conduct of continuing citizen participation in all aspects of the use of Community Development Block Grant Funds and other federal, state, and local funds. The City of Fort Worth has formally involved citizens in community issues, however, there were requirements for involving citizens in the decision-making process. In response to those requirements, the Neighborhood Advisory Councils (NAC) were established. The official name of this organization shall be Lake Como Neighborhood Advisory Council (Lake Como NAC). ​ Purpose Who We Serve Where We Serve How We Serve Purpose (Article II) ​ The purpose of of the Lake Como NAC is to: Promote civic spirit. Support and encourage members, community partners and government institutions to work together to advance the common good. Incorporate diverse people, voices, ideas, and information; establish good will among residents. Promote the improvement of public facilities and services. Engage with and solicit cooperation with government and community institutions in dealing with problems in the neighborhood that may be alleviated through use of public funds from various sources, both governmental and private.
